Yes, because a great website isn’t just about attracting new strangers; it’s about stopping you from paying 20% commission on guests who were already trying to book with you directly.
Industry data shows that over 50% of travellers discover a lodge on an OTA, but immediately open a new tab and Google the business’s exact name. They are looking for a better price, better photos, or a direct booking perk. This is where you either win the direct booking or lose the commission:
The Failed Handoff: The traveller lands on a slow, outdated site with confusing pricing and a hidden booking button. They panic, bounce back to the OTA, and book there. You just paid a steep commission for a guest who was standing right on your digital doorstep.
The Direct Capture: The traveler lands on a fast, beautifully designed site. They immediately see high-res imagery, a "Best Rate Guarantee when you book direct" badge, and a seamless 1-click booking button. The direct booking is captured, and the commission is saved.
Think of your new website as a high-performance bucket. It captures high-intent visitors who are already searching for you, ensuring they don't leak back to the OTAs.

I build exclusively on Squarespace. It is the best all-in-one platform for small business owners. It provides world-class security (built-in SSL certificates), lightning-fast global hosting, and an incredibly intuitive visual editor. This means your site stays safe, ranks well, and remains easy for you to update without needing to know a single line of code.

Absolutely! One of the best things about Squarespace is how user-friendly it is. Once your site is live, I’ll hand over the "keys" along with a custom training video showing you exactly how to update text, swap out photos, and add new seasonal packages safely. You'll have full control to keep your site fresh. And if you ever need a major structural update or a brand new page down the road, my door is always open!

A standard custom Squarespace website takes 3 to 4 weeks from our project kickoff to the live launch. However, because my focus is on building a site that actually converts visitors into direct bookings, this timeline relies heavily on a collaborative process.
Here is what dictates the schedule:
Your Conversion Assets (The Starting Line): The design process cannot begin until your "trust signals" are ready to go. This includes your finalized text, high-resolution photography, logos, and branding. These are the elements that convince a customer to book. The 3- to 4-week timeline officially begins only after all your content is submitted and organized.
The Strategic Build: Once I have your assets, I build the site architecture, map out the user journey, and bake in the technical and on-page SEO so search engines can actually understand your value.
Rigorous Review & Testing: We don't just hit "publish" and hope for the best. The final phase is dedicated to a strict review and testing process. I'll test the site on mobile devices, check page load speeds, verify your booking links, and ensure the technical foundation is sound before your digital doors open to the public.

Currently, over 70% of New Zealand's tourism traffic occurs on mobile devices, yet most operators are losing bookings because their websites freeze on patchy rural 3G networks.
To fix this, I will strip away your desktop-heavy clutter, compress your imagery for instant loading, and anchor a sticky 'Book Now' bar to the bottom of the screen so passengers can book a room one-handed from the road.

Yes, a Squarespace website works seamlessly with most third-party booking agents and scheduling systems, including Rezdy and FairHarbor.

Every website I design includes comprehensive on-page SEO best practices. This means I optimise your heading structures, compress images for fast loading speeds, ensure mobile responsiveness, and connect your site to Google so it can be indexed. I build the high-performance car; but if you need ongoing SEO marketing (like monthly blog writing or link-building) to drive it to the top of Google.
AI Feeds on Fresh ContentModern AI search algorithms prioritise recency and relevance. If a website sits dormant, with no updates, new photos, or fresh information, AI algorithms assume the business is inactive and will prioritise competitors who update their sites regularly.

The "Premium Upgrade"
Absolutely! While standard website builds focus on showcasing your services and generating leads, I can easily upgrade your project to include a fully integrated e-commerce shop. We will use Squarespace's powerful built-in commerce tools so your customers can buy merchandise, gift cards, or digital products seamlessly without ever leaving your site.
Let me know during our consultation if you'd like to add this on! Additional fee’s will apply.

To keep things simple and secure for both of us, I use a straightforward 50/50 payment structure:
50% Deposit: Paid upfront to secure your project slot in my calendar and kick off the strategy phase.
50% Final Balance: Paid after you have reviewed and signed off on the finished staging site, right before we point your domain name live to the world.

Yes! I will link all of your active social media profiles (Instagram, Facebook, etc.) using clean, recognisable icons in your website's header or footer.
To keep your website loading lightning-fast and to ensure visitors stay focused on booking with you, I do not embed live, scrolling social media feeds on the homepage. Instead, we use highly optimised static image galleries that look beautiful and never break!

Your fixed-price quote locks in your cost, it will not change. However, because I specialise in rapid, high-performance builds, my timelines rely on getting your draft copy and feedback on time. If a project is delayed on your end for more than 30 days, a restart fee may apply to rebook your slot in my schedule.
-
No surprises here. Your quote covers my design, copy optimisation, and technical SEO setup. The only ongoing costs you will have are your standard Squarespace hosting subscription and your domain registration, which you will pay directly to Squarespace.
